Beyond Our Doors Community Lunch
On the first Sunday of each month, CGS hosts a community lunch immediately following the 10:15 AM service. This is sponsored by the Beyond Our Doors ministry team. If you'd like to get involved, please reach out to Gerard McNeill or call the church office. The BOD team welcomes opportunities to partner with like-minded organizations serving our neighbors in need. Above is a photo from our first Community Lunch of 2026.Thank you to Camm, Anders, Maggie and Paul Fyfe for preparing the delicious chili! |
Community Fountain Blessing
The community fountain project, first proposed last fall, is now complete and ready to serve anyone in need of fresh, clean drinking water. The new fountain is a high-quality model often used in parks. Its heavy-gauge construction is designed to resist frost, corrosion, tampering, and vandalism, ensuring it will serve the community for years to come. It features a “bubbler” drinking fountain, a bottle-filling station, and even a pet bowl for our four-legged friends. This project was made possible through a memorial gift from Carolyn Owens and donations from Ed Sharp and Jean Louise Beard. Thanks to their generosity, the project was completed with no impact on the church’s operating budget. Our thanks also go to the manufacturer, Elkay, for providing a remarkable 67% discount on the hardware. The blessing of the fountain took place Sunday, July 5th during Good Shepherd's Community Lunch, where neighbors and supporters can gather to celebrate this meaningful addition to our shared space. |
