Daughters of the King
The Daughters of the King is a prayer group of women who pray daily for both parishioners and non-parishioners for whom prayers have been requested. Their prayer list is confidential and is not discussed outside of the membership. The Church's prayer list, published in the Sunday bulletin and in the parish newsletter, is also included in their prayers.
The Daughters go through discernment classes for an 8-week period before taking vows to pray daily. Our parish has one of the largest chapters of the Daughters of the King in the diocese. The Bethesda Chapter (Good Shepherd) meets the second Sunday of every other month immediately after the 10:15 Eucharist. These meetings are limited to members only since the confidential prayer list is discussed and updated at each meeting.
The current president is Charlotte Netherby; the vice-president is Kitty Pruitt; the treasurer is Mary Jezierny; and the prayer chairwoman is Catherine Wall. Prayer requests can be given Catherine or any Daughter at any time and she will get the request to the entire Chapter immediately. A confidential prayer request box is also located in the church narthex.

Episcopal Church Women
The women of Good Shepherd also participate in the parish chapter of Episcopal Church Women (ECW), with a goal of being rooted in our past to move toward growing into God's future. Our purpose is to carry on Christ's work of reconciliation in the world and to take our place as leaders in the life, governance and worship of the church.
All women who are members of Good Shepherd are by definition members of the Episcopal Church Women. This vital group facilitates programs and events throughout the year that focus on community outreach, parish in-reach and spiritual growth. For more information, please contact Vestry Member Margaret Noble.
