What is the Annual Giving Campaign?
The Church of the Good Shepherd's Annual Giving Campaign supports the operating budget of our church. It occurs each fall and the money pledged determines the budget for the coming year (2026)
The Church of the Good Shepherd strives to clearly exemplify and communicate the ways in which we utilize our resources towards the work of giving witness to God’s compassion, God’s justice and God’s transformative power. Annual Giving is about getting involved – giving your time, sharing your gifts and talents, and supporting our church financially. Your involvement enables The Church of the Good Shepherd to do its work and ministry.
What Are We Raising Funds For?
Our goal is to generate financial commitments of $850,000.
Our key goal for 2026 is:
The CGS budget has been carefully built to cover fundamental operating expenses and program expenses. Increased positions will be possible only if additional funds are realized through the generosity of your gift. Large or small, every gift is valued and appreciated as our strengthened community seeks to generate $850,000.

How much should I give?
The tradition of giving back to God and to the church comes from the Biblical practice of “tithing,” which means to give back a tenth of our earnings to God (Numbers 18:16). There is no required amount to give and each gift is strictly confidential. Every contribution is appreciated and vital to the operating cost of our parish. Your gift is a symbol of your commitment to God’s work at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Opportunities for Stewardship at The Church of the Good Shepherd
During the fall, we conduct our Annual Giving Campaign to fund the church's operations, including personnel, programming, and facilities expenses.
Year-round stewardship involves providing a wide range of opportunities for practicing gratitude and generosity. At Good Shepherd, we actively support abundance stewardship through Gifts of Time and Talent
How you would like to share your gifts to further God’s work at the Church of the Good Shepherd?
Everyone in our parish family is encouraged to complete the Time and Talent survey. Please let us know your interest in serving in any of the following by areas by checking the appropriate boxes. Your responses will help us discover how best we can serve God’s work together at the Church of the Good Shepherd, support our 2025–2028 Strategic Plan and guide opportunities for ministry and volunteer service.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey:

Commitment Sunday, September 28
Commitment Sunday was a big success with lots of folks enjoying our STEWardship luncheon with a special treat this year as we celebrated the pending nuptials of our own Frank Fee and Megan Gauss Hill. We warmly welcome Megan, George, and Mays to the Good Shepherd family. The stew was extra popular this year and we sold out our 48 to go containers. Great thanks to our STEW CREW and Lunch Team for a good event.
The STEWardship luncheon is a beloved parish tradition: homemade delicious Brunswick stew as we enjoy fellowship and strengthen our community.
A Stewardship Prayer
Gracious and loving God, we understand that you call us
to be the stewards of your abundance, the caretakers
of all you have entrusted to us. Help us always to use your gifts wisely and teach us to share them generously. May our faithful stewardship bear witness to the love of Christ in our lives. Amen.
