We are excited to begin Read the Bible in a Year - a guided, community‑centered journey designed to help participants engage Scripture daily through simple, flexible, and accessible tools. This program blends personal reading, shared listening, and group reflection so that everyone—whether reading independently or joining others—can read through the Bible together. The challenge will begin at 6 PM May 24th, Pentecost Sunday, with an online kickoff meeting. We will establish further meeting times, both on zoom and in person once we have our list of participants. Please email Michael Burkhart if you have questions or plan to join us! If you're not sure, try it out for 30 days! If the program is already underway and you would like to join later, feel free! Links to resources are below and will also be provided via email.

The apps mentioned below are strictly optional and no cost is involved. Please see the steps summarized below to help prepare for our journey together. Also, please reach out to anyone you might know who would like to join us!

Thank you,

Michael Burkhart

Summarizing next steps that can be completed before our kickoff.

  1. (Optional but recommended) Planned Kick-Off online meeting: Sunday May 24th at 6:00 PM
  2. Optional Weekly meetups planned : schedule to follow
  3. (Optional but recommended) Install the mobile app "YouVersion"(android and iphone) - See QR code below or search your mobile app store for "YouVersion"; the actual icon may look like a Bible. The phone app makes it easy to keep up with the reading schedule even if you choose to use your Bible or other online tool. When you have installed it, email [email protected] and you'll be added to the private reading group.
  4. (Optional) Join "GoodReads.com". After you have joined, I can send you an invitation to our members only group where we can share and encourage each other. We will try out this tool and see if we find it valuable. It could be more helpful for those who don't want to install the mobile app.
  5. Send any questions or concerns to [email protected].

A printed reading schedule will also be provided for all, and additional digital resources will be provided to all who sign up with Michael.

Happy Reading!
