From Jamey & Helen Bass

We've been with Good Shepherd for the last 5 years since we moved to the area, but we only started to really get involved over the last year. So, it was a little bit of a surprise when we were asked to write about what the church has meant to us, but it has been such a wonderful place for our family that it was pretty easy. For those that don't know, Helen is a nurse and works a tough schedule including a lot of nights, Jamey has his own business as a financial planner, Carter is the 3 year old that you see Jamey chasing everywhere, and Cooper is the 1 year old that is usually taking a nap at home on Sunday mornings. As you can imagine we have a very hectic life and we really don't have much time to spend outside of work or home.

What has made Good Shepherd so special for us is that it really feels like an extension of our own family. From the moment we attended our first service until now, everyone has always been very inviting and welcoming. It seems like most of the time when you are the new person or new family, you have to make the effort to fit in, and it has been the total opposite with our experience here thus far. From the clergy, to the vestry, to all the other members, we couldn't have asked for a better group of people to raise our family with and hopefully we can make new families feel as welcome as we have for years to come.

To us it's great to feel a sense of belonging and have such a wonderful place for faith, friendship, and fellowship. We want to be able to give back with our time and resources in any way that we can because Good Shepherd has definitely welcomed us with open arms.

Thank you Good Shepherd.
