Help Us Help Others Through Community Outreach
The Community Outreach Ministry of Good Shepherd is being tested by a great influx of those who are in financial need due to loss of jobs and growing concern about the economy. All of the agencies in Wake County are overwhelmed with requests for assistance, and the need is growing. We need your help in seeing that those who meet our ministry's criteria are seen in a timely manner. Our program is set up to serve Raleigh residents only who need financial help with rent or utilities. Most are trying to avoid eviction or having their utilities turned off. We make appointments by phone (831-2019) on Wednesdays between 2:00pm and 3:30pm, and we see those individuals on Monday between 12:00pm and 4:00pm. We have a message on our phone with needed instructions for obtaining help, and there are business cards with the Community Outreach Ministry information available in the Parish Life Center lobby and the Narthex. If you are approached by anyone for help, please give them a card with a smile! We are here to carry out this ministry for you. Many thanks to all of those who give over and above the portion designated by the annual budget. It gives hope and relief to so many deserving and needy people who are touched by the generosity of Good Shepherd.
