Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care is a unique and special ministry administered by the clergy and by trained lay parishioners in our parish. If you need pastoral care, please call the church office and ask to speak to one of our clergy.
Even though we are a large congregation, we recognize the importance of making the right connection during challenging and difficult times in the lives of our fellow parishioners. Please call us and share your need, large or small.
Emergencies - Our Clergy are available to any parishioner in the event of an emergency (death, serious illness, or accident) and will respond promptly. Please phone and tell us that you have an emergency and urgently need contact. Also tell us how to contact you. Pastoral care and support begin with this initial contact.
Non-emergencies - Our clergy and trained lay parishioners visit and pray with parishioners who are hospitalized. Prayer cards are left when a patient is not in their room. Please call the parish office prior to admission and do register your denomination when asked. Holy Eucharist can be administered either by visiting clergy or a Lay Eucharist Minister (LEM) - with some advance notice.
Baptism to Burial - Our Clergy provide appropriate instruction and guidance for the Pastoral Offices, or sacraments of the church: Baptism, Confirmation (Reception and Reaffirmation), Holy Matrimony, Thanksgiving for the Birth/Adoption of a Child, Ministrations to the Sick, Reconciliation of a Penitent, and Burial of the Dead. If you need any of these services, please call the church office.
Nursing Home Visitation - Worship services are held regularly at local assisted living facilities. After the service, the celebrant visits who have requested a visit but are unable to attend the service. An LEM also regularly visits parishioners.
Homebound Visitation - Lay ministers contact and visit these parishioners regularly. Our Clergy also make visitations. If you know a parishioner who wants to be included in these visits, please contact the parish office.
Lay Eucharist Ministers (LEM) - The bishop licenses Lay Eucharist Ministers provide Holy Eucharist under the direction of the Clergy. They administer this spiritual feast to those unable to attend Church services.
